Dr Chakraborty did his BDS & MDS (Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery) from Regional Dental College & Hospital, Guwahati, Assam. He then went on to work as a Junior Research fellow (under DBT project), Dept of Head & Neck Oncology, Dr B. Borooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati, Assam, before joining as Fellow in 2yrs Post Graduate Fellowship in Head & Neck Oncology in the same institute. Dr.Chakraborty is also a Fellow of the International Board for the Certification of Specialists in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is the first and only surgeon till date in the NE to be awarded the AOCMF Fellowship from Dept of OMFS/Head and Neck Oncology and Reconstruction, Ninth People Hospital, Shanghai. He is also the proud recipient of the FHNO Travel Fellowship from Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. The first from NE in all surgical specialty). His Special area of Interest include Maxillo-Facial/Head & Neck Oncology with reconstruction including microvascular reconstruction. A highly motivated and hardworking individual, he is extremely passionate about improving Head & Neck Cancer Care in North-Eastern part of India.
